EcoEngineers, a renewable energy and carbon consulting firm, has announced the appointment of Urszula Szalkowska as its senior consultant and managing director for Europe. Szalkowska brings more than two decades of experience in renewable energy, climate change, fuels and transportation to the position. She will lead EcoEngineers’ European practice, supporting both European-based clients and international clients doing business in the European Union (EU), and will provide global climate policy coordination across US and EU regulations.
The appointment comes at a critical time for the EU as it faces the worst energy crisis in decades and significant energy sector transformations. Szalkowska’s expertise will help businesses navigate the EU’s heavily regulated renewable energy markets and advise those doing business in member states on how to abide by national rules. Her leadership will enhance EcoEngineers’ global advisory practice and help clients optimize their supply chains based on opportunities within various regulations. Szalkowska holds a Master of Arts in law and administration from The University of Warsaw in Warsaw, Poland and speaks fluent English and Polish and conversational German, French, and Spanish.
