The UCAB EU office will be led by Nazar Bobitski, a former Ukrainian diplomat with expertise in EU trade policy and regulation. One of the primary functions of the office will be to provide advisory support to Ukrainian agricultural producers in preparation for Ukraine’s EU pre-accession negotiations. This includes guiding producers in understanding and preparing for regulatory alignment with EU agricultural legislation, as outlined in Ukraine’s EU membership aspirations.
Furthermore, the office aims to support the development of agricultural trade relations between Ukraine and the EU. To achieve this, the office will serve as a platform for dialogue between the Ukrainian agricultural business and various European stakeholders, including EU institutions, Member States, and European agrifood business associations. Another goal of the UCAB EU office is to facilitate effective communication between Ukrainian agribusiness entities and European stakeholders.
The UCAB will collaborate with KREAB, an international public affairs and communications company, to carry out the office's activities.
Commenting on the UCAB's European office initiative in Brussels, Oleh Khomenko, the UCAB Director General, stated, “Having a presence for Ukrainian businesses in the EU capital has been a priority for us. Ukrainian agribusiness sees the importance of strengthening ties with the European community. Our aim is to establish a constructive dialogue with European partners.”
