Cefic Announces Winners of 2023 European Responsible Care Awards

This year's awards, themed “Transition to 2050,” focus on the chemical industry's efforts to achieve climate neutrality, circularity, and safe and sustainable operations and chemicals.

The online gallery showcases eight winners and five commendations for projects that contribute to the industry's transition. These initiatives range from developing national transition plans and upcycling waste for a circular economy to advancing safe and sustainable chemicals and innovating in water management.

The winners and commendations are categorized into areas like safe and sustainable operations, chemicals, climate neutrality, circularity, and small and medium-sized enterprises, reflecting the diverse approaches to achieving sustainable transitions within the industry.

Winners include:

  • Safe and Sustainable Operations: KEM ONE and FranceChimie.
  • Safe and Sustainable Chemicals: BASF SE and Evonik Operations GmbH.
  • Climate Neutrality: Klüber Lubrication München GmbH & Co. KG.
  • Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises: ERCA SPA and ECOAT.
  • Relevant Transition Pathway Projects: The Association of Chemical Industry of Czech Republic- SCHP (CZ)

Commendations were given to Akdeniz Chemson Kimya San. Tic. AS, Corteva Agriscience, BASF SE for its "Steam cracker of the future" project, ELKEM ASA, and Thevinyl AB.
