The European Liberal Forum (ELF), the political foundation of the ALDE Party, welcomed Alva Finn as the new Executive Director. Originally from Ireland, she brings twelve years of experience in policy at the EU, UN and national levels to the organisation. Finn is the outgoing Secretary General of Social Platform, the largest civil society network working on social and equality issues in Europe.
Prior to Social Platform, Alva worked at Save the Children, Mental Health Europe, and the Irish Mission to the UN in Geneva. She also worked as a consultant with the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to health and with refugees and asylum seekers in Cairo during the Arab spring. In her spare time, she campaigns for change, including leading successful diaspora campaign efforts during the Irish abortion referendum. You can follow her on Twitter and LinkedIn.
